“This is my warrior! My rock star🤘🏼! Jake is now 17! He is nonverbal with Autism, Trigeminal Neuralgia and Hydrocephalus! Even though Jake is considered nonverbal, he communicates using his ipad to speak for him! It’s pretty amazing to watch!

Despite every challenge Jake has ever gone through he always comes out smiling...Even after 6 brain surgeries!!!

Jake is our gentle giant. He is very affectionate and I’m gonna brag a bit but, he loves his Mama.❤️ He’s always playing with my hair and giving me kisses! Some of Jake’s favorites are watching YouTube videos of Bear in The Big Blue House, music, swimming, chicken nuggets, french fries and wreaking havoc! He’s a mischievous kid for sure and thinks he’s rather funny!! LOL! He also loves going for car rides and taking pictures of houses with his ipad!

When we got our Madsen aka “Maddie” it opened up a whole new world for us as a family! To be able to bike and be outside in the sunshine and fresh air has brought us so much joy and freedom. To see his face light up on his first ride made my cheeks hurt from smiling so much!

Last summer Jake had his sixth surgery and was unable to do much of anything. He was not in a good spot as we say in our autism world... physically or mentally.

Through his journey he has and will continue to touch more lives than I ever will in my lifetime. Now I get to look at my son and his journey with such gratitude that he can finally “Enjoy The Ride”
